 | News Release - Sept 17, 2007 | | HANOI, Vietnam -- Vietnam is considering removing the limitation on the number of foreign employees in enterprises, which is now capped at 3% of total labourers. The Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) is compiling a draft decree on recruitment and management over foreign labourers in Vietnam, which is expected to replace the currently applied Decree 105 on the same issue. The draft decree compilers plan to make a breakthrough by removing the cap on the number of foreign labourers in enterprises. (VietNamNet) |  | News Release - Sept 14, 2007 | | SINGAPORE -- From January next year, employers will have to buy and maintain insurance for the medical expenses of all foreign workers on Work Permit or S Pass. This follows the withdrawal of healthcare subsidies for foreigners. The requirement will apply to both new and existing workers and will also include foreign domestic workers. The Manpower Ministry said the coverage must be at least S$5,000 a year for each worker's inpatient care and day surgery, while staying in Singapore. (CNA) |
